A recent example from WoodFiring 268. The glaze utilizes the wax-resist technique. This is done by applying a wax on top of the original black glaze. Then a sgraffito decoration is scratched through the black glaze and a white glaze is poured over this black glaze. . It is certainly an example of recent expressionistic work. I did a series of perhaps 25 of these; each is a bit different but all came through the firing with a wonderful folkcraft quality. The glaze quality in the interior part of the pot (place mouse over the photo) comes from a double application.
Enjoy.
