"BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow">"BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow">This pot is from a Picasso drawing titled "Vase, gourde et fruits sur une table" done in 1909. It's challenge was to translate the obvious cubist interpretation into a thrown vessel that was within the vocabulary that I have become accustomed to. The pot was actually made upside down as a closed vessel (a balloon if you will). I then threw the foot as an attachment while the upside down part was still fresh on the wheel.
